What steps would I take to submit one of my works to be featured in a major motion picture soundtrack?

I was listening to the Twilight Soundtrack and I liked alot of it and it got me thinking about how one of my songs would go good in the twilight movies. particularly new moon, the next one to come out. I would like to send it to somebody in the music/soundtrack business but not sure of how i should go about it. I know the VERY FIRST thing I need to do is copyright it before i do anything. I have a small digital recorder that i will use to make a demo ,send it to get copyrighted, but then what should I do? anyone familiar with the music business?

You would have to release an EP Single, an original album, and then submit it to Summit.
